Helium leak detection in a vacuum chamber is a commonly used detection method, mainly used to detect the leakage of vacuum seals. The following are the steps and principles of helium leak detection in a vacuum chamber: Steps of helium leak detection in a vacuum chamber: Place the component to be tested into the vacuum chamber and evacuate the vacuum chamber to a high vacuum state.

Inject helium (He) into the vacuum chamber to a certain pressure, usually 0.1-1.0 atm, to ensure that the external environment of the component to be tested is a pure helium environment.

According to the need, place detectors that can adsorb helium on one or both sides of the component to be tested, which are respectively called the front detector and the rear detector. A flow path and a negative pressure difference of helium are formed between the front detector and the rear detector.

When there is a helium leak in the part to be tested, the leaked gas enters the flow path from the leakage point, reaches the front detector and is detected by the detector. Usually, the leakage signal is obtained through a signal intensifier and an audio signal, and at the same time, the position of the leakage point is observed in the illumination chamber.

Principle of helium leak detection in a vacuum chamber: Helium leak detection in a vacuum chamber takes advantage of the characteristics of helium, such as its small molecular mass, diffusivity, and inertness. Helium molecules are very small and easy to escape from the leakage point and mix with the air around the component to be tested. At this time, by using the negative pressure in the high vacuum state inside the vacuum chamber, the surrounding mixed gas is pumped away, leaving only helium, making the external environment of the part to be tested a pure helium environment. In this state, if there is a leak in the part to be tested, helium will escape and enter the flow path, and be detected successively by the front detector and the rear detector, forming a leakage signal. Through the intensity of the leakage signal and observing the position of the leakage point in the illumination chamber, the location and size of the leak can be determined.

The helium mass spectrometer leak detectors produced by Anhui Nuoyi Technology have been widely used in many industries due to their excellent quality and stable performance, meeting various applications. They can be used for single-machine leak detection, and can also be integrated into leak detection systems or PLCs.
